“Active Seniors – Development of Activities at Local and European Level”
(28 August – 2 September 2024)
This course is aimed at organizations active in the field of non-formal education and social inclusion of seniors. It is structured into three main modules, designed to develop practical, collaborative, and transnational competences:
Module 1: Developing competences for creating non-formal programs dedicated to seniors
Key activities:
- Presentation of working models with seniors in Germany (coordinated by EUnet e.V.)
- Comparative analysis of methods used in Germany and in the participating countries
- Practical workshops: simulation and design of non-formal activities adapted to the local communities of the participants
Module 2: Digital Literacy – from Needs to Solutions
- Workshop led by experts from Vatra Limburg: “Digital Literacy for Seniors – From Needs to Solutions”
- Case studies on adapting digital training to the education level and motivation of seniors
- Teamwork: designing a pilot digital training session
Module 3: Creating a European Collaborative Network for Senior Organizations
Main activities:
- Presentation of good practices in intergenerational work:
- MehrGenerationHaus – Kaisersesch (examples of intergenerational collaboration)
- Kreisvolkshochschule – Cochem (adult education center)
- Dialogues with local experts on NGO – public institution collaboration in Germany
- Development of an action plan for establishing a transnational network of senior organizations
Practical and Evaluation Activities:
- Each institutional team will develop an annual activity plan for seniors
- Initial and final assessment of acquired competences:
- Quantitative evaluation / Qualitative evaluation
Certification and Competence Recognition:
- All participants will receive certificates of participation issued by EUnet e.V.
- In collaboration with the participating organizations, EUROPASS Certificates will be issued, certifying the competences acquired in:
- Non-formal education for seniors
- Planning of annual programs
- Digital literacy
- Working with elderly people
- European transnational cooperation
